Nanjing Mathematics students visited the Faculty of Sciences

Mathematics students from Jiangsu Second Normal University paid a three-day visit to the Faculty of Sciences of PTE, in cooperation with the Nanjing-based Hungarian Innovation Center in China.

While the primary aim of the programme was to promote mutual knowledge transfer and international student mobility, the organisers offered much more: inspiring professional experiences and lasting memories.

Visiting students were given an insight into the master's level courses at the Faculty of Sciences, participated in interactive lab demonstrations, got a taste of teaching artificial intelligence and learned about the research activities of the Szentágothai János Research Centre. The Chinese students also had the opportunity to visit research and development and start-up companies in Pécs.

The professional programmes were complemented by colourful cultural experiences: the students discovered the historical and architectural heritage of Pécs and got to know the rich cultural life of the city.

Both the city and the university made a deep impression on Chinese students. One of them said:

"The environment here is very nice and the people are friendly and polite. Life here is relaxed and pleasant. I was also impressed by the university - it has a strong humanitarian spirit."

The initiative will contribute to deepen the cooperation between the two universities and further strengthen the international presence of the Faculty of Sciences in the educational area.
